The Changing World of Buy Here, Pay Here Today!

HOUSTON, TEXAS – The National Alliance of Buy Here Pay Here Dealers (NABD) today announced the details for its annual East Coast Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH) Conference on October 21-23, 2012. The conference will again be held at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) and adjoining Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway hotel. These outstanding facilities are linked to the Atlanta Hartsfield airport by a dedicated sky train so attendees will not need ground transportation.

The agenda this year will focus on the numerous new developments which are occurring in the BHPH industry, and the conference theme is appropriately entitled, “The Changing Word of BHPH Today!” explained Ken Shilson, NABD President and Conference Chairman. Highlights include a legal and regulatory update, interactive sessions with new capital providers, and all the latest new technology which can help operators increase efficiency and profitability. “New developments in the industry are happening at an unprecedented pace, and this conference will update attendees on everything they need to know to be successful,” Shilson explained.
“New operators are entering the BHPH industry in significant numbers. These new operators need to understand how to capitalize on the profit opportunities and avoid the pitfalls. Trial and error mistakes will cost them millions of dollars,” Shilson indicated.

The general sessions begin on Sunday afternoon, October 21 with concurrent workshops. Twelve workshops will feature leading experts and operators and cover topics including a legal and regulatory Q&A, capital, finding good customers, an IRS audit update, a leasing update, new technologies, payment devices, hiring the best people and pay plans, alternative repayment strategies, CPI and service contracts, acquiring and reconditioning the right vehicles, maximizing recoveries, internet best practices, advanced skip tracing and much more. These sessions will not be infomercials, and include new information which will help operators face all the new challenges of today. The concurrent workshops will benefit both new and experienced operators and all sessions will be interactive. The concurrent sessions continue on Monday morning, October 22. “These workshops are not repeated so dealers are encouraged to bring multiple attendees so they can attend all of the educational sessions.” Shilson explained.

On Monday afternoon, October 22, the single-track education sessions begin with an induction ceremony for the BHPH Hall of Fame. Other general sessions feature an emphasis on underwriting and collection best practices, inventory acquisition and sourcing strategies explained by successful operators, capital, and finding the necessary capital.

Speakers and presenters include leading investment banker John Nagy; attorneys Tom Hudson and bankruptcy expert Dennis Levine, D.J. Harrington and other nationally-recognized experts.
Approximately 100 sponsors are expected in an exhibit hall which features a sports lounge for Sunday and Monday night football, two receptions, a breakfast and a luncheon. The exhibit hall has been designed to facilitate networking between dealers, experts, and product and service providers. Those interested in exhibiting should call Keith at 832-767-4759.

The entire program is co-sponsored by the Georgia Independent Automobile Dealers Association (GIADA), and last year over 800 attendees from around the U.S. and Canada participated in this important event. All education session conclude at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 23 to facilitate return travel by attendees.

The Marriott and adjacent Spring Hill Suites are new hotel facilities who offer NABD attendees discounted room rates as low as $129 per night! Availability is limited so attendees and exhibitors are encouraged to reserve their rooms as soon as possible. Reservations can be made online at the NABD web site: www.bhphinfo.com.

“BHPH is the fastest growing and most lucrative sector of the auto industry today but operators face several new challenges,” Shilson said. This conference is designed to familiarize attendees with all the latest developments and to help them capitalize on some exciting new profit opportunities. A detailed agenda with more details on the program is available at www.bhphinfo.com or by calling 832-767-4759.
NABD is the only used car special interest group exclusively for the self-finance industry. Membership is open to anyone in the BHPH industry and to service providers. Members pay no dues.
